Maternal and Child Health
We transform realities through research
Due to the persistently high maternal and infant mortality rates in the Dominican Republic and the impact of these two population groups and their wellbeing on other sustainable growth goals to be met by 2030, we acknowledge maternal and child health as an important challenge for the national health system and as a national priority that needs evidence-based solutions. Our commitment to support these goals relies on:
Valid and Reliable Data
Providing valid and reliable qualitative and quantitative indicators of maternal and child health, including availability, access and quality of related facility and community-based services, such as sexual and reproductive health, family planning, safe abortion and obstetric emergencies
Bottleneck Analysis
Conducting situation analysis and identifying major bottlenecks in each one of these areas, as a foundation for strategic and programmatic decision-making.
