Summary
The aim of the Rapid Test study was to measure the efficacy of the SARS-CoV-2 antibody seropositivity tests for diagnosing COVID-19 disease by determining what percentage of patients presenting to the emergency department of selected hospitals in the Province of Santo Domingo and the National District The second stage was to evaluate possible associations between categorical variables to identify potential risk profiles for acute disease (IgM) or for past infection (IgG).
The tests were administered in the emergency area of the selected hospitals, after authorization by the country’s health authorities, only to those who had not had a previous positive result to a COVID-19 test.
