Summary

USAID’s global Local Health System Sustainability (LHSS) Project helps low- and middle-income countries transition to sustainable, self-financing health systems to support high-performing health systems; thus, supporting improved social protection of health to consider the health needs, capacities, and preferences of migrant women.

The Dominican Republic provides data for evidence-based interventions and adjustments aimed at optimizing the impact of specific health programs on the health of vulnerable communities, preventive, and primary care. Two Oceans in Health (2OiH), with the involvement of the government of the Dominican Republic and other key stakeholders in health policy adjustments in the Dominican Republic, addresses through this project the social and health protection of migrant women through an action research approach as a primary platform and a flexible tool to define, promote and achieve sustainable social and policy changes in complex social and political environments.
